Chegaga Argan

Chegaga

Driving past Taroudant famous for its ramparts we can admire the argan trees. We follow the mountain road via Taznakht, famous for its Berber carpets towards the Foum Zguid palm-grove.The track runs through the amazing site of the Iriki dried­-up lake and we arrive at Chegaga dunes before sunset. Bivouac in modern berber tent.

Desert

We are introduced to the life in the desert :  with a trek in the dunes, a camel ride in the desert, possibly a meeting with nomads, a lunch in an oasis, a sand bath. Then we walk back to the bivouac. 

Agdz

After a morning walk in the dunes at sunrise we have breakfast at the bivouac. Back on the track we leave the Chegaga dunes (300 m in height) enjoying wonderfully different landscapes : ergs,regs, hamadas, oases. Then after M'hamid ­ where we have lunch we visit the Oulad Driss ksar and drive through Tamegroute famous for its Koranic library which we visit and its traditional potteries. From Zagora, ancient caravan city, we drive to Agdz where we visit theTamnougalt ksar.

Agadir

We drive back to Agadir following the mountain road through the Tizi-­N­-Taghergoust pass, via Taznakht famed for its Berber carpets. We have lunch in Talouine well known for its saffron cultivation then visit a cooperative before reaching Agadir.

It is possible to do this program in 3 days
