Day 1

Marrakech

From Marrakech we drive through the Tizi-N-Tichka pass 2260m. From Telouet (kasbah of the Glaoui) we take the magnificent road of the Ounila Valley, reach the Ksar Ait Ben Haddou and soon Ouarzazate, the gate to the desert, then Agdz through the Tizi-N-Tinififft pass surrounded by an arid landscape.

Day 2

Agdz

From Agdz we follow the road of the caravans to the Drâa Valley and discover its green palm-grove. After Zagora, an ancient caravan town we pass through Tamegroute and the ancient village of M’Hamid. The track reaches the 300m high Chegaga dunes. Wonderfully diverse landscapes – erg, reg, hamada, oasis – can be enjoyed. Then meharee at sunset and bivouac in the dunes.

Day 3

Chegaga

From Chegaga after an early morning walk in the dunes we are back on the track crossing the dried up Iriki lake and reach the palm-grove of Foum Zguid. We drive towards the Tata oasis famous for its pink pisé houses.

Day 4

Anti-Atlas

We discover the Anti-Atlas as we drive through Igherm before reaching the exceptional site of Tafraoute (pink granite rocks). Visit of the Aït Mansour gorges.

Day 5

Route of the almond-trees

We drive accross the Anti-Atlas through the picturesque village of Adai, the Kerdous pass with its terrace cultivation and its argan trees before reaching Tiznit and its famous souk of the jewellers. Then on to Sidi Ifni and the Aglou beach.

Day 6

Paradise Valley

Road towards Paradise Valley. We drive along the coast towards the Souss Massa national park – a sanctuary for so many beautiful birds – before reaching Agadir. From the winding road we have a wonderful panoramic view of the kasbah up there on the heights. Then on the road towards Paradise Valley via Tifrit and Imouzzer.

Day 7

Essaouira

From Amesnaz we drive back towards the steep rocky coast, carry on via Cape Tafelney towards Essaouira and drive through Sidi Kouaki (Bob Marley’s beach).

Day 8

Essaouira

Visit of the ancient Mogador surrounded by pink high walls which attracts many artists with its harbour, its medina with narrow lanes and white and blue houses, its windswept beach, one of the most beautiful in Morocco.
