Kasbahs Desert

Dadès

From Marrakech. We reach the High Atlas through the Tizi-N-Tichka pass and take a mountain road wirh luxuriant vegetation. After Imerzgane down to Ouarzazate. After the el Mansour dam we take the road of the 1000 kasbahs . We drive through the Valley of Roses. The panoramic views of the High Atlas and Berber villages are breathtaking. Then  we take the road towards the Dadès gorges.

Merzouga

From   palm-grove of Tingherir, on the way we stop for a walk in the Todgha gorges . Then the track takes us to Erfoud before reaching the spectacular dunes of the erg Chebbi and further on, Merzouga. Late afternoon and after a two-hour-meharee we bivouac in the dunes.

Drâa valley

Departure after bivouacking, after watching the sunrise over the dunes’summit. Return journey towards Merzouga. Then the road leads us to Rissani. Numerous fossils have been found in this region. First we get a view of the wild landscapes of the djbel Sagho then we go down towards Tazzarine and Nekob. The track leads us to the Drâa valley and Tamnougalte.

Marrakech

From Tamnougalte, we make our way back via Agdz, the Tizi-N-Tinififft pass and the Tifoultoute kasbah. We drive through the impressive Ounila valley looking at Berber villages perched on mountain sides then  the kasbah of Glaoui  in Telouet. On our return journey we drive through the Tizi-N-Tichka pass and reach Marrakech in the afternoon.

This circuit in a private 4WD can be done in 5 days with either stopping at Ouarzazate then following the track to Boutharar or spending one extra night in the desert or travelling via Zagora
